Job summary

The Law Society of Hong Kong invites applications from energetic professionals to join the Communications & External Affairs and Member Services Department as an Officer. The role covers event management, external communications, and supporting member services.

You will coordinate with PR agencies, draft meeting papers, assist with funding schemes, and develop new digital tools while working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years' experience in event management, communications, research, media/publication or member services.
  • Independent and a good team player with strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Chinese word processing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the organisation of functions, activities, classes, seminars, webinars, receptions and other functions of the Department.

  • Assist in development of new mobile apps and IT-related projects.
  • Support IT-related projects and advance interests of members.

Job description

The Law Society seeks applications from enthusiastic and responsible person to fill the challenging position of Officer in Communications & External Affairs and Member Services Department.

Job Duties:
  • To assist in the organisation of functions and activities, classes, seminars, webinars, receptions and other functions of the Department;
  • To work with external parties including PR agencies and other service providers;
  • To arrange and participate in meetings of committees and working parties; draft agenda, papers and minutes and perform work incidental thereto;
  • To assist in the application and operation of Government funding schemes for the benefit of the profession/members;
  • To prepare budgets, reports and proposals;
  • To conduct research on legal and related topics, including searching, collating and analysing information, figures and policy updates to support departmental work
  • To assist in the preparation of communication materials such as speeches, presentations, reports, letters and publicity content
  • To handle enquiries from members and the public and support member engagement initiatives
  • To assist in the development of new mobile app(s) and/or other solutions as shall be identified;
  • To assist in initiatives and projects identified and/or relevant to the Department (including IT related projects);
  • To assist the Department in providing services to and advancing interests of its members.
Requirements:
  • A degree holder with at least 3 years' experience in event management, communications, research, media/publication or member services;
  • Additional experience in members engagement or customer service or media/publication industry is an advantage is an advantage;
  • Independent and a good team player; strong communication skills and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • Proficiency in computer skills including MS Office and Chinese Word Processing;
  • Travelling may be required; and
  • Immediate availability is preferred.
