Job summary

Global Sports Jobs Limited is seeking a stable operations assistant at Shatin Racecourse in Hong Kong. The role supports daily stable operations, handling horses, grooming, and aiding with transportation and track activities on a shift basis.

You'll work six days a week (including overnights, Sundays and public holidays) with 48 hours per week, and must be reliable, communicative, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of Secondary 3 or above.
• Demonstrate responsibility, integrity, initiative, focus, flexibility and diligence.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive and positive attitude towards work and learning.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Work in different supporting positions in the stables according to the supervisor's schedule.
• Handle retired or quarantined horses.
• Assist with transportation and loading/unloading of horses at the entrance/exit.
• Assist with daily operations and cleaning of the horse swimming pool, and help with entry and exit of horses for swimming.
• Provide horse grooming services.
• Patrol the racehorse stables and quarantine stables in the evening.
• During morning track work, assist in handling loose or injured horses and assist injured personnel.
• On race days, assist with the assembly of horses for races and ensure smooth entry and exit in the parade ring.

About the Role

It involves handling horses in various situations, including retired or quarantined horses, transportation, swimming pool operations, grooming, evening patrols, and race-day activities. The position works on a shift basis and is scheduled according to operational needs.
