Job summary

PAP Community Foundation in Hong Kong seeks an experienced Occupational Therapist to lead therapy services at the Senior Care Centre. You will assess clients, plan treatments, and participate in multidisciplinary care planning with the Centre Manager and physiotherapist.

The role requires AHPC registration, a degree in Occupational Therapy, at least three years in hospital or eldercare, and strong communication to engage with seniors and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
• Qualified and fully registered with AHPC
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in a hospital or eldercare institution; preference for community setting
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Passionate disposition to interact with frail seniors

Responsibilities

• Plan and run occupational therapy services in the Senior Care Centre [in coordination with the Centre Manager and Physiotherapist]

• Take charge of proper documentation of therapy records
• Understand dementia issues and know how to manage clients who display behavioural problems
• Interact to foster close and warm relationships with clients’ families and caregivers
• Take charge of other duties which the Centre Manager may assign from time to time

• Understand dementia issues and know how to manage clients who display behavioural problems [associated with onset of dementia].
• Interact to foster close and warm relationships with clients’ families and caregivers; and to exhibit with sincerity the care and respect of clients.
• Take charge of other duties which the Centre Manager may assign from time to time.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
• Qualified and fully registered with AHPC [Allied Health Professions Council].
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in a hospital or eldercare institution; preference is for a candidate with working experience in a community setting.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess a passionate disposition to interact with frail seniors.
