Job summary

TSS Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Middle Office Operations professional on a contract basis to backfill a multi-year strategic project. The role focuses on trade support for ETD and OTC derivatives and covers the full trade lifecycle from capture to settlement.

You will manage reconciliations, corporate actions, and collateral management, liaising with Front Office, Technology, Finance, and external counterparties. Strong Excel, SQL, and Python skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years in Middle Office, Investment Operations, or Trade Support.
• Proven derivatives trade support (ETD/OTC) experience.
• Strong knowledge of full trade lifecycle across asset classes.
• Experience with cash/position/transactions reconciliations and corporate actions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Self-starter; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced Excel; SQL, VBA or Python a plus.
• Experience with trading and reconciliation platforms is advantageous.

My Client is seeking an experienced Middle Office Operations professional to join their team on a contract basis. This is a Business-As-Us-ual (BAU) backfill role created to support a multi-year strategic project within the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end trade lifecycle for a variety of asset classes, with a primary focus on trade support, including exchange-traded derivatives (ETD) and over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives
• Oversee daily trade capture, affirmation, allocation, and settlement processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Perform daily cash, position, and transaction reconciliations, investigating and resolving breaks or discrepancies with internal records and external counterparties
• Support corporate actions processing, lifecycle events, and other operational processes as needed
• Provide dedicated support for derivatives instruments (ETD and OTC), including futures, options, swaps, and other instruments
• Support operations for other asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and FX
• Manage collateral and margin activities related to derivative trades
• Act as a key operational point of contact, liaising between Front Office (Trading/Portfolio Management), Technology, Finance, Risk, and external parties (brokers, custodians, counterparties)
• Investigate and resolve operational queries and exceptions effectively, utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proactively identify operational risks, process gaps, and opportunities for efficiency improvements

About you

• 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in Middle Office, Investment Operations, or Trade Support within a buy-side environment (e.g., Asset Manager, Hedge Fund, Pension Fund)
• Proven experience with derivatives trade support (ETD and OTC) is essential
• Strong practical knowledge of the full trade lifecycle and post-trade operations across multiple asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, FX)
• Experience with reconciliations (cash, position, and transactions), corporate actions, and cash management
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to resolve complex issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• A self-starter who can deliver results with minimal oversight and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Advanced proficiency in Excel is required; experience with SQL, VBA, or Python is a plus
• Experience with trading and reconciliation platforms is highly advantageous
