Job summary

Guotai Junan International in Hong Kong seeks a trade support professional to monitor frontline requests, support fixed income and structured products strategies, and manage trade lifecycle events.

You will liaise with front office, risk, product control and settlements; perform reconciliations; and drive process improvements, requiring 3+ years in a bank-like setting and strong Excel/VBA/SQL skills.

Job Description

• Monitor and respond to frontline requests and trade-related inquiries throughout the day.
• Support trade capture for fixed income and structured products strategies.
• Track and manage trade lifecycle events including expiries, cashflows, and corporate actions.
• Investigate and resolve booking discrepancies, P&L questions, and trade disputes.
• Escalate issues to appropriate internal teams and follow through to resolution.
• Liaise daily with frontline, risk, product control, and settlements.
• Coordinate with technology and operations on system issues or workflow gaps.
• Communicate clearly with front office on open items and priority escalations.
• Perform daily position, cash, and trade reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve breaks between internal systems and prime broker or custodian records.
• Support settlement fail resolution and counterparty dispute management.
• Identify operational gaps and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Manage lifecycle events for fixed income instruments including maturities, resets, and rollovers.
• Products Covered: Total Return Swaps, Structure Notes, Interest Rate Swaps, Cross Currencies Swaps, Bonds, Repo/Reverse Repo, CDS, Options, FX

Job Requirements

• 3+ years of trade support, middle office, or operations experience within an investment bank, asset manager, or hedge fund
• Solid working knowledge of fixed income products (bonds, rates, credit)
• Practical understanding of trade lifecycle events — expiries, cashflows, resets, rollovers
• Experience performing daily cash, position, and trade reconciliations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable liaising with front office and across internal teams.
• Highly organized, task-oriented, and able to prioritize effectively under pressure.
• High level of intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets); VBA, SQL, or Python a plus.
• Exposure to additional asset classes — equities, equity derivatives, options, or OTC products a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred
