Job summary

HK Electric in Hong Kong is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to monitor progress, coordinate across the project lifecycle from design to commissioning, and review technical submissions. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience and proficiency in English and Chinese.

The position is a 2-year contract with renewal possibility. Working location is Admiralty / Lamma Island with transportation provided.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge of project engineering, coordination and contract administration.
Practical knowledge of power plant equipment is an advantage.
Familiar with local and international regulations, standards and codes.
Proficiency in English and Chinese (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

Monitor project progress and coordinate activities through design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and close-out.
Review drawings, method statements, risk assessments and submissions for compliance.
Conduct tender evaluations and provide recommendations.
Liaise with internal and external parties to resolve EHS issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
Carry out inspections, supervision and coordination at site.
