Responsibilities
- Work across multiple product categories from lingerie, apparel, sleep, swim and accessories.
- Provide direction to cross-functional teams (CFTs) in assessing product construction based on fabrics, trims and treatments, and in building the Smart product to achieve the aesthetics and margin goals.
- Assess risks & propose solutions to mitigate any risks regarding quality, vendors and suppliers capability and capacity at the early development stage.
- Monitor the style allocation to make sure the right product at the right vendors per aligned sourcing strategy.
- Organize and facilitate effective design trips. Monitor post-trip follow-up, remove any roadblock on sampling and costing.
- Partner with region design tech on complex garment styles.
- Monitor the number of developments and call out for support.
- Drive Calendars/GNG/CGL for new styles.
- Implement fact-based costing on cost architecture building and cost negotiations, coach/calibrate the team and vendors on fact-based costing and sensitivity on cost drivers.
- Evaluate different cost options and make recommendations to achieve the business goals.
- Support the team on costing negotiations with vendors.
- Spend time with the team at the development centers and manufacturing sites to build strong manufacturing and product knowledge.
- Work with Product Development & CFTs to drive seasonal development allocation strategy to balance capability, capacity, costs, quality & sourcing strategy. Drive conversations with vendors/suppliers/PD/CFT for alignment. Come up with solutions to resolve issues.
Requirements
- 8+ years related experience in related fields / functions
- Relevant capability in designated function
- Product development knowledge, construction, costing, consumption, risk assessment and mitigation
- Proven record in excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor’s degree/Higher Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to connect the dots, remove roadblocks, and find solutions to concerns
- A team player with strong ability to work end-to-end and collaborate across various departments
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge in Salesforce and Centric is an advantage
