The Hong Kong Jockey Club is seeking an experienced project and grant manager to support the Lung Cancer Screening Pilot Programme and related Health impact projects. The role involves planning, governance, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination with government, NGOs, and community partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Sciences, Social Sciences, Public Health, Nursing / Life Science / Allied Health.
  • 5–6 years' experience in fund or project management.
  • Experience interfacing with government, NGOs, and professional bodies would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Support Deputy Executive Manager and/or Senior Manager to ensure effective execution of the project, including governance, reports, and records for review.
  • Develop the project plan with tasks, deliverables, schedules, and resources; maintain documentation for governance and audit.
  • Monitor project activities to ensure alignment with objectives and timelines; work with external partners to meet specs and schedules.
  • Plan and monitor finance matters (budget, procurement, contracts, milestone payments).
  • Design and implement stakeholder engagement and publicity strategies with partners and government bodies.
  • Provide administrative support for daily operations, including progress and financial reports, procurement, and meeting support.
  • Coach and support junior team members on implementation, risk mitigation, and communication.
  • Conduct research on social issues to support new projects or themes.

The Division

The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.

Job Summary

Reporting to Deputy Executive Manager and/or Senior Manager, Charities, the job holder will have the primary duty to support the overall planning, development, and implementation of the Lung Cancer Screening Pilot Programme. The job holder will also support the development and monitoring of other grant-making projects and/or TIPs under the "Health" impact programme.

The Job
  • Support Deputy Executive Manager and/or Senior Manager to ensure effective execution of the project, including but not limited to implementation of all the required project governance and controls, preparation of reports, and maintenance of records for the Club's management team and Charities' Trust's review;
  • Develop the project plan including the tasks, deliverables, schedules and resources required, and maintain a repository of documentations for project governance and audit purposes, including but not limited to funding proposals, agreements, progress reports, meeting minutes, and project publications etc;
  • Monitor the delivery and effectiveness of the project's activities to ensure that they are in line with the project objectives and timelines, and work closely with external project partners to ensure deliverables are in accordance with specifications, schedules and expectations;
  • Plan and monitor matters related to finance (budget monitoring), purchasing and supplies functions (e.g., handling procurement and coordinating contracts and milestone payments to related vendors);
  • Work with Deputy Executive Manager and/or Senior Manager to design and implement stakeholder engagement and publicity strategies, including liaison with industry partners, government, community leaders, and to promote the project to general public;
  • Provide administrative support for meeting daily operational, functional, and reporting requirements, including but not limited to preparing progress and financial reports, internal procurement and audit procedures, maintaining comprehensive project documentation, providing secretariat support for Project Advisory Committee and the sub-committees/working groups of the project;
  • Provide coaching, guidance and support to junior member(s) of the Project Team concerning effective implementation, mitigation of risks, internal and external communication in particular;
  • Conduct research on social issues in order to support development of new projects or themes (including literature review, industry data analysis, and discussion with potential project partners);
  • Carry out other duties as directed by management.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Sciences, Social Sciences, Public Health, Nursing / Life Science / Allied Health
  • A minimum of 5-6 years' experience in fund or project management
  • Background on public health or social sciences preferred
  • Experience in dealing/working with government, NGOs, education sector and professional bodies would be an added advantage
  • Strong ability to interface with people with various functions and levels
  • Strong project management skills
  • Knowledge on government policies and insights on community service needs, particularly the public health and elderly services
  • Strong excel and powerpoint skills preferred
