The Hong Kong Jockey Club is seeking an Assistant Charities Manager (Sustainability Grant Making) to support grant making and environmental/social impact reporting. You will work under the Charities and Community Division, liaising with NGOs and government bodies to identify and fund projects aligned with sustainability goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 5-8 years of relevant experience, and strong English writing and bilingual communication skills.

  • Contribute to the development of strategy and work plans to optimise the Trust's impact.
  • Compile reports and monitor progress and expenditure of approved charities or community projects.
  • Coordinate meetings with NGOs, Government departments, and other stakeholders.

The Division

The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.

Job Summary

Contribute to the Grant Making team in achieving the Club's vision as the world class charity and community benefactor solving metropolitan social issues (namely "Sustainability") with innovations. Reporting directly to the Executive Manager, Charities (Healthy Community, Sustainability and Institute of Philanthropy) and Deputy Executive Manager, Charities.

The Job
  • Support donation requests and carrying out grant making functions.
  • Support the development of reporting social impacts (including environment, social and other relevant aspects) to stakeholders and the public.
  • Conduct research to analyse social / community service needs and identify potential projects in line with out focuses including but not limited to Sustainability / Environment.
  • Contribute to the development of strategy and work plans to optimise the beneficial impact of the Trust's contribution.
  • Compile reports and monitor progress and expenditure of approved charities or community projects according to the project plans.
  • Contact and coordinate meetings with NGOs, Government departments, and other stakeholders.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 5-8 years' relevant experience
  • Good communication skills and language proficiency (both English and Chinese)
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Passions, strong drive and career interest in charity work
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered for Assistant Charities Manager.
