Job summary

Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI Institute) seeks a Manager, Business Development & Partnerships to lead business development, partnerships and market expansion across examinations, qualifications and training offerings. You will manage stakeholder relationships, provide market intelligence and drive growth initiatives aligned with the Institute's objectives.

The role reports to the Heads of the Examination Department and Education & Development Department and requires

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Education or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years' relevant experience in business development, stakeholder engagement, partnership management, professional education, examinations, qualifications, financial services or related fields.
  • Good understanding of Hong Kong's financial services industry, licensing framework, professional qualification landscape, and continuing professional training requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing external stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen, customer and stakeholder focus, with the ability to identify and develop growth opportunities.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to translate market insights into practical business initiatives.
  • Effective relationship-building, influencing, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational, project management and execution capabilities, with attention to detail.
  • Proactive, results-oriented and collaborative, with the ability to work independently and across departments.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development and market-expansion initiatives to increase examination registrations, qualification enrolments and participation in training programmes.
  • Identify, evaluate and pursue business, partnership and collaboration opportunities aligned with the Institute’s objectives.
  • Contribute to the achievement of agreed business growth, enrolment, market-adoption and partnership objectives.
  • Develop business proposals and recommend partnership arrangements to expand the Institute’s reach and market presence.
  • Serve as the relationship manager for designated corporate, institutional and industry stakeholders, including relevant financial institutions, employers, professional bodies, educational institutions and industry associations, in relation to examination, qualification and training business development.
  • Engage employers, practitioners and market participants to identify emerging competency, qualification and professional-development needs.
  • Represent the Institute at industry events, conferences, networking activities and stakeholder meetings, as appropriate.
  • Support the engagement of subject matter experts, trainers, speakers and industry practitioners for programme development and delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to increase the adoption and recognition of the Institute’s examinations, qualifications, certifications and professional training programmes.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments and market needs to identify opportunities for new or enhanced examination and learning solutions.
  • Work with internal departments and external partners to support the development, implementation and promotion of relevant programmes.
  • Provide market insights and stakeholder feedback to inform programme development, outreach and promotional initiatives.
  • Monitor business performance, partnership initiatives and relevant market developments.
  • Prepare management reports, market analyses, business cases and recommendations.
  • Support departmental business planning, forecasting and budgeting.
  • Track, analyse and report on business development performance, partnership progress and market response.

The Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI Institute) was founded in 1997, with the support of the Securities and Futures Commission, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited and industry leaders to reinforce, raise and promote professional standards for the financial services industry in Hong Kong.

The HKSI Institute is seeking a high-calibre individual to fill the following position:

Job Summary

Reporting jointly to the Heads of the Examination Department and Education & Development Department, the Manager, Business Development & Partnerships will manage and coordinate business development, partnership and market-expansion activities across the Institute’s examinations, professional qualifications, certifications and training offerings. The role will help identify and develop business and collaboration opportunities, manage designated stakeholder relationships, and provide market intelligence and recommendations to support business planning, market awareness, adoption and participation.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Market Expansion

Develop and implement business development and market-expansion initiatives to increase examination registrations, qualification enrolments and participation in training programmes.

Identify, evaluate and pursue business, partnership and collaboration opportunities aligned with the Institute’s objectives.

Contribute to the achievement of agreed business growth, enrolment, market-adoption and partnership objectives.

Develop business proposals and recommend partnership arrangements to expand the Institute’s reach and market presence.

Partnership and Stakeholder Management

Serve as the relationship manager for designated corporate, institutional and industry stakeholders, including relevant financial institutions, employers, professional bodies, educational institutions and industry associations, in relation to examination, qualification and training business development.

Represent the Institute at industry events, conferences, networking activities and stakeholder meetings, as appropriate.

Identify opportunities to increase the adoption and recognition of the Institute’s examinations, qualifications, certifications and professional training programmes.

Work with internal departments and external partners to support the development, implementation and promotion of relevant programmes.

Provide market insights and stakeholder feedback to inform programme development, outreach and promotional initiatives.

Business Planning and Performance Reporting

Monitor business performance, partnership initiatives and relevant market developments.

Prepare management reports, market analyses, business cases and recommendations.

Support departmental business planning, forecasting and budgeting.

Track, analyse and report on business development performance, partnership progress and market response.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

Experience working with professional bodies, examination providers, educational institutions, financial services organisations, training providers or industry associations.

Familiarity with professional qualification frameworks, examinations, certification programmes and continuing professional training.

Knowledge of the SFC Licensing Examination, CPT requirements, professional qualification frameworks and industry competency standards would be an advantage.

Experience in engaging stakeholders across Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland.

Established connections within the financial services and/or professional education sectors.
