Manulife is seeking a seasoned professional in Hong Kong to lead quality assurance and regulatory compliance for DBS submissions. The role focuses on reviews, documentation gaps, case tracking, and governance materials, requiring strong governance and cross-functional collaboration across teams.

With 5+ years in financial services and compliance, you will influence decision-making, manage change, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • College/University Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related financial services, compliance or management experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable compliance or business systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the financial services industry and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to work independently and drive decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-submission reviews of DBS cases.
  • Perform quality assurance checks against established checklist requirements.
  • Follow up with Relationship Managers and Business teams on documentation gaps.
  • Maintain case tracking and workflow management.
  • Monitor submission turnaround times and SLA adherence.
  • Support investigations of recurring quality issues.
  • Coordinate ongoing communications with FCC, Business teams, DBS Frontline and DBS FCC.
  • Prepare discussion materials for periodic governance meetings.

Position Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-submission reviews of DBS cases.
  • Perform quality assurance checks against established checklist requirements.
  • Follow up with Relationship Managers and Business teams on documentation gaps.
  • Maintain case tracking and workflow management.
  • Monitor submission turnaround times and SLA adherence.
  • Support investigations of recurring quality issues.
  • Coordinate ongoing communications with:
    • FCC;
    • Business teams;
    • DBS Frontline;
    • DBS FCC.
  • Prepare discussion materials for periodic governance meetings.
  • Maintain issue logs and action trackers.
  • Provide guidance to Business teams on documentation standards.
  • Conduct refresher training on submission requirements.
  • Share lessons learned and common deficiencies.
Required Qualifications
  • College/University Degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of related financial services, compliance or management experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technology skills including knowledge of applicable compliance or business systems
  • Strong ethical compass
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the financial services industry with an advanced understanding of the Company’s businesses.
  • Advanced understanding of the regulatory environment in which the Company operates and a s strong understanding of key compliance requirements applicable to the business.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to facilitate decision making across groups in the company
  • Ability to embrace change; strong change management skills.
  • Ability to analyze technical information, make appropriate recommendations to decision makers and ability to make decisions Decision Authorities:
  • Full resource management responsibility
  • Decision making for hiring, terminating, training/developing and compensation changes for the team
  • Design policies and procedures for innovative products to address various stakeholders’ needs and concerns
  • Help shape roadmap of new product development
  • Influencing authority related to customer experience, compliance and operational matters
