Job summary

ASTRI - Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute in Hong Kong invites a qualified accountant to join our finance team as a senior accountant. You will lead month-end close, consolidate group accounts, and ensure statutory compliance while supporting external audits.

You have at least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, with Big 4 audit preferred, and strong English/Cantonese/Mandarin, plus MS Office and FLEX accounting system proficiency.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with a degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience; Big 4 audit experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity and professionalism.
• Proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end closing, including financial and management reporting, payments, vouchers, and budget control.
• Perform year-end closing activities, support statutory audit and tax filing for compliance.
• Assist in preparing group consolidation accounts.
• Adhere to accounting policies, methods and principles.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors and tax advisors.
• Implement internal control policies per statutory and Government funding requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare the month‑end closing, including but not limited to preparing financial and management reports, reviewing payments and vouchers, and budgetary control.
• Perform year‑end closing activities, support statutory audit, and tax filing to ensure compliance with policies and guidelines.
• Support in preparing the group consolidation accounts.
• Adhere to proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors and tax advisors.
• Implement internal control policies and procedures following both statutory and Government funding requirements.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Qualified Accountant with a degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of hands‑on and relevant experience, Big 4 audit experience is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
• A self‑motivator and team player to handle job duties with tight deadlines and ad hoc requests.
• Strong sense of ownership.
• Ability to multitask with good time‑management skills.
• Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Knowledge of the FLEX accounting system is an advantage.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance‑linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical, insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work a five‑day week.
