Jane Street is seeking an experienced macOS Engineer to scale device management and automation across a global fleet. You will standardise and automate deployment, develop scripts, optimise MDM, and integrate new tools and services to improve reliability.

You will collaborate with colleagues across continents, document solutions clearly, and help shape the IT Engineering group that maintains the computing environment for the firm.

Formación

• 4+ years in a technical engineering role managing, monitoring, and deploying macOS devices in an enterprise environment.
• Developing Python or bash/zsh automation scripts and tooling.
• Managing macOS devices using an MDM platform (Intune, Workspace One or Jamf Pro).
• Understanding software distribution and patching for macOS and knowledge of macOS security features and best practices.
• Experience with Apple Business Manager lifecycle management.
• Experience integrating various systems to fulfil business needs.
• Ability to troubleshoot macOS operating systems, applications, peripherals, and network problems.
• Experience with hardware monitoring and performance tuning.
• Clear and concise communicator with strong customer service for support queries.
• Flexible, reliable team player who works well in a collaborative environment.
• Self-motivated with good judgement to drive projects when colleagues are offline.

We are looking for an experienced macOS Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and finding smarter ways to manage devices at scale. You’ll help shape and improve the systems behind our growing fleet of Apple devices, with a focus on automation, reliability and making technology work better for our colleagues worldwide.

This will involve standardising and automating our device management, developing scripts, optimising MDM systems and integrating new tools and services.

You’ll also collaborate with colleagues across three continents to understand our firm’s business needs, troubleshoot issues, develop new solutions, share knowledge, and plan and execute deployments. Getting the details right and clearly documenting your work will be critical.

This role is part of our IT Engineering group, which designs and manages the physical, virtual and mobile computing environment that keeps Jane Street running at the highest standard.

Qualifications

• Have 4+ years of experience in a technical engineering role managing, monitoring and deploying macOS devices in an enterprise environment
• Strong experience with developing Python or bash/zsh automation scripts and tooling
• Have extensive experience with managing macOS devices using an MDM platform such as Intune, Workspace One or Jamf Pro
• Have an understanding of software distribution and patching technologies for macOS and knowledge of macOS security features and best practices
• Experienced with managing the life cycles of Apple devices using Apple Business Manager
• Experienced with integrating a variety of systems to fulfil business needs
• Able to troubleshoot macOS operating systems, applications, peripherals, and network problems
• Experienced with hardware monitoring and performance tuning
• A clear and concise communicator with excellent people skills; able to maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries
• A flexible and reliable team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment
• Self-motivated, with the good judgement to make decisions and drive projects forward when colleagues in other offices are offline
