Job summary

Lane Crawford is seeking an Assistant Buyer to develop and manage seasonal merchandise mixes across Asia. You will collaborate with seasoned buyers and brand partners to ensure Lane Crawford remains a top destination for luxury goods.

The role requires negotiating with suppliers, managing OTB and pricing strategies, and optimizing margins while leveraging omni-channel channels for sales growth. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree holder with 2+ years of buying experience in retail industry.
• Able to deal with principals and vendors effectively.
• Proactive, figure sensitive and attentive to details.
• Strong analytical ability with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent command in written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
• Proficient in all Microsoft applications.
• Candidates with no buying experience will be considered as Merchandise Coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Assist the buying team to achieve seasonal sales and profit targets based on the seasonal business plan.
• Negotiate with suppliers in a tough but fair manner to secure exclusive ranges / brands and optimize the profit margin.
• Be proactive in understanding the competition, and take action to minimize loss of Lane Crawford market share.
• Determine pricing strategies for products/suppliers based on market reviews and supplier financials.
• Fully understand supplier cost structure and logistics costs; identify value-added opportunities for Lane Crawford.
• Provide monthly updates to relevant parties on key costs and expenses related to buying.
• Ensure staff utilize Omni-channel technology to encourage customers to shop on and off line, maximizing sales at every opportunity.
• Monitor closely an open to buy (OTB) system controlling sales and stock levels to maintain seasonal targets.
• Work with stores to establish a balanced range of merchandise suited to the customer profile and recommend changes to maximize sales and profit.
