Job summary

About this team

The Finance team works cross functionally with teams across the business to support finance operations, bookkeeping, and financial reporting, and to coordinate with external auditors and tax representatives on compliance matters. We work closely with retail teams to support day to day business operations, reporting, and growth initiatives, and we also play an active role in supporting market expansion across the region from a finance and compliance perspective.

A day in the life
  • Support month‑end closing activities, including but not limited to preparing accruals and adjustments journal entries, reconciliations for various business operations, analysis of actual data fluctuations
  • Manage lease accounting activities, communicate and coordinate with landlords for store financial reporting
  • Participate in annual audit, assist with annual financial statements preparation and tax return filing, including but not limited to indirect tax, withholding tax and corporate income tax
  • Provide support on accounts payable tasks assigned
  • Work closely with business teams, finance and shared service teams in Vancouver headquarters, external accounting services company for accounts payable, reporting, operations and compliance matters
  • Maintain proper accounting records and ensure documentation is appropriately organized for assigned markets
  • Handle other ad‑hoc tasks assigned from time to time
Qualifications
  • Degree holder in Accounting or relevant disciplines
  • Progress towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g. HKICPA, ACCA) is preferred
  • 3 years or above experience in a similar role, experience with MNC or CPA firm is a plus
  • Experience with Oracle and Coupa is an asset
  • Experience in supporting multiple countries in South East Asia region is a plus
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills with professional style
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Be proactive and comfortable working with both local and remote team members
  • Be able to develop and maintain a network of contacts, both inside and outside the organization, with people who can supply information, assistance and support for work related goals
