Job summary

HKEX in Hong Kong is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer for the Markets Systems Technology team. You will build and support low-latency trading infrastructure and mission-critical systems for cash and derivatives markets.

Work closely with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to deliver resilient technology solutions and automated health checks, deployment, and testing. The role requires strong scripting, Python, SQL, and DevOps tooling experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in building or supporting low-latency trading or market data infrastructure.
• Strong scripting and programming abilities with Linux environments.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work through effective planning and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Build and support low-latency trading infrastructure in on-premises environments.
• Integrate and support mission-critical systems for cash and derivatives markets.
• Automate health checks, operational workflows, and DevOps processes.
• Assess technology and security risks and drive mitigations per standards.
• Coordinate testing, deployment, and production rollout activities, including weekends.
• Promote technical excellence and ensure compliance with policies and security standards.
