Job summary

Acton Consulting Limited is seeking Linux/Unix System Engineer or Database Support Specialist to join a growing professional team in Hong Kong. The role involves database administration, server and OS management, and implementing robust backup and disaster recovery strategies.

Candidates should have a diploma/degree in CS or related field and at least 1 year of experience with Oracle, MSSQL or DB2, or shell scripting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• At least one year's experience in Oracle, MSSQL or DB2 database administration or shell scripting.
• Technical experience in Unix/Linux is a plus; Unix/Linux experience will also be considered for Junior/Assistant DBA roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform database administration and support tasks.
• Responsible for servers, operating system, and database administration (from installation, configuration, upgrade, performance tuning to troubleshooting).
• Design and implement backup strategy, system disaster recovery, security, business continuity of the database systems.
