Job summary

HKUST Library is seeking a dynamic librarian to join the Research & Learning Support (RLS) team. The appointee will help plan, create, deliver, and assess research and learning initiatives, focusing on researchers’ workflows in an AI-assisted environment.

The role emphasizes data management, scholarly communications, and impact analysis across multiple disciplines. Early career librarians with interest in data repositories and data management are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 2+ years post-qualification experience in a library or research-support setting.
• Growth mindset, collaborative and proactive attitude; ability to multitask in AI-assisted environment.
• Strong understanding of open science, research data management, impact assessment and scholarly publishing.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Chinese language skills (Cantonese/Putonghua) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage HKUST repositories, research data planning, and transformative agreements.
• Promote open scholarship and best practices in research data management and scholarly communications.
• Design and deliver research instruction including workshops, online guides, and tools with AI integration for researchers.
• Provide bibliometric and impact analysis using tools like altmetrics to support assessments and reports.
• Serve as a subject liaison, offering research consultations and course-integrated instruction to support faculties and students.
