FundPark is a cross-border FinTech company providing working capital and supply chain finance solutions and other AI products to e-commerce merchants and SMEs across multiple markets. The Legal Team supports the group's funding operations, investor relations, contract management, and corporate structure across a growing group of entities, working closely with retained external counsel on more technical and specialist matters.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to join FundPark's legal function, reporting to the Legal Team Leader. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, well suited to a junior in-house lawyer looking to build broad experience across commercial contracts, funder and investor support, and corporate administration within a cross-border FinTech business.
You will take on a significant share of the team's day-to-day contract and administrative legal work, freeing the Legal Team Leader to focus on higher-level funder, investor, and external counsel management. This is a strong opportunity to develop quickly across multiple areas of in-house practice while working within a small, collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
Contracts & Commercial Legal Support
- Draft, review, and negotiate day-to-day commercial contracts, including vendor/supplier contracts, NDAs, and standard service agreements, under the guidance of the Legal Team Leader
- Maintain and help improve contract templates, playbooks, and approval workflows
- Provide first-line legal support to internal stakeholders on routine commercial and contractual queries
Funder & Investor Support
- Support the Legal Team Leader in tracking funder and investor deliverables, including reporting requirements, conditions precedent, and documentation timelines
- Help prepare, organize, and check documentation for funding rounds, facility negotiations, amendments, and waivers
- Assist in coordinating information flow between the business, funders/investors, and external counsel
Corporate Support
- Support corporate housekeeping across the group's entities, including board resolutions, statutory filings, and registers
- Help maintain accurate records of the group's corporate structure
- Assist with administrative aspects of entity setup, restructuring, or cross-border arrangements, working alongside external counsel where technical input is needed
External Counsel Support
- Help prepare briefing materials and instructions for retained external counsel
- Track deliverables, timelines, and follow-up actions arising from external counsel advice
- Support the Legal Team Leader in reviewing external counsel's work product for completeness and internal
Candidate Profile
Experience & Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer Hong Kong solicitor or equivalent common law qualification
- Approximately 0–3 years PQE, ideally with some in-house exposure or law firm experience advising cross-border or FinTech-related clients
- Some exposure to cross-border companies, financial services, or trade finance is an advantage but not essential
- No prior people management experience required - this is an individual contributor role
Skills & Attributes
- Solid contract drafting and review skills, with a willingness to learn commercial negotiation
- Organized and detail-oriented, comfortable tracking multiple workstreams and deadlines
- Proactive and resourceful, comfortable operating in a smaller organization with less structured support than a larger firm or corporate legal department
- Good communication skills, able to work effectively with both internal stakeholders and external counsel
- Excellent written and spoken English; Cantonese and/or Mandarin required given the regional scope of FundPark's business
- Eager to develop broad in-house experience and grow into a more senior legal role over time
