Job description

This role provides comprehensive legal support across litigation and dispute resolution, private equity transactions, compliance and regulatory affairs, and general legal matters for the Group. You will work on commercial disputes, arbitrations, and regulatory investigations; support full-lifecycle legal work for investment projects including due diligence and transaction documentation; assist with regulatory filings and inquiries; and provide legal research and advice to management and business teams.

Key responsibilities

Assist in handling commercial disputes, arbitrations, and regulatory investigations involving the Group; coordinate with external litigation counsel to advance dispute resolution work

Follow up on post-investment legal risk matters for investment projects, including default management, equity buyback disputes, and litigation/arbitration proceedings related to exit mechanisms

Manage litigation/arbitration case files, organize evidence, track timelines, conduct legal research, and handle daily communication with external counsel

Assist with full-lifecycle legal work for investment projects, including structural design, legal due diligence, as well as drafting and reviewing transaction documents (SPAs, SHAs, JV agreements, etc.)

Coordinate legal matters related to entity structures across Hong Kong, Mainland China, and offshore jurisdictions (Cayman/BVI); track transaction closings and subsequent compliance matters

Assist with regulatory filings, prepare materials for and follow up on regulatory inquiries and on-site inspections

Provide legal research and commercially oriented advice to management and business teams, covering group risk control, corporate governance, and day-to-day operational matters

Assist in supervising external law firms and professional advisors regarding quality of work and cost-effectiveness

About you

Degree in Law (LLB/JD) or relevant legal qualifications

2-6 years of relevant experience in a law firm, the legal department of a Chinese financial institution, or related legal roles

Practical experience in handling commercial litigation, arbitration, or dispute resolution; capable of independently managing case files, coordinating with external counsel, and tracking procedural progress

Familiar with private equity transaction processes; experience in cross-border investment projects, fund formation, or M&A transaction support is preferred

Precise and fluent oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English; fluent in Mandarin; English must be capable of being used as a working language

Strong legal analysis, communication, and organizational skills; detail-oriented, strong execution, and a team player

Admission as a Hong Kong solicitor is preferred, but not mandatory

Familiarity with the Hong Kong SFC regulatory framework (Type 9 regulated activity) and the Fund Manager Code of Conduct is preferred but not mandatory

Experience in handling Cayman/BVI offshore structures and cross-border disputes

Mainland China legal background or qualification (Legal Professional Qualification)
