Job summary

Magic is hiring a senior full‑stack developer to architect, develop and deploy its core platform. You will work directly with the founders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and establish the foundation for future growth.

You will build a modern customer‑facing site, backend services, pricing engines, APIs and CRM integrations, while using AI coding tools to accelerate delivery with high engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in full‑stack software development.
• Proven ability to build and deploy production‑quality web applications.
• Experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, cloud infrastructure and modern development workflows would be advantageous.
• Experience building SaaS platforms, fintech or insurtech products would be a strong advantage.

Job description

You will be responsible for architecting, developing and deploying Magic's core technology platform. This is a hands‑on role where you will work independently, make sound technical decisions and deliver production-quality software. You will collaborate directly with the founders, translating business requirements into practical technical solutions and establishing the foundations for future development.

Key responsibilities

Build a modern, responsive website and customer-facing application, including insurance product pages, landing pages and quotation journeys.

Design and build the platform's backend, databases and business logic, establishing a secure, scalable and maintainable application architecture.

Develop proprietary, rules-based insurance pricing engines using insurer-provided premium tables, rating factors and eligibility criteria.

Design and develop secure APIs connecting the frontend, backend and pricing engines, and integrate relevant third‑party services and platforms.

Develop or integrate CRM and lead‑management functionality, including lead capture, customer records and automated communications.

Use modern AI coding tools, such as Claude Code or equivalent, to accelerate development while maintaining strong engineering standards.

Implement appropriate testing and quality assurance, manage deployment and hosting, and document the architecture, APIs and codebase.

Develop administrative functionality for managing insurance products, pricing data and customer enquiries.

Implement premium calculations and product eligibility rules, validating pricing accuracy against insurer source data.

Recommend a realistic delivery roadmap, identify technical dependencies and establish a maintainable foundation for the platform's continued development.

About you

Strong experience in full‑stack software development.

Proven ability to build and deploy production-quality web applications.

Experience with frontend frameworks, backend services, databases and API development.

Strong understanding of software architecture and application security.

Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of technical delivery.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions.

Experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, cloud infrastructure and modern development workflows would be advantageous.

Experience building SaaS platforms, fintech or insurtech products, insurance comparison websites, pricing engines or other complex data‑driven applications would be a strong advantage.
