Job summary

Qualifications

• An aviation-based university degree and/or experience as a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer
• A Flight Operations engineer qualification or other aviation-based engineering qualification
• Strong aviation engineering and technical knowledge, with a working knowledge of flight operations principles
• Good knowledge of MMEL/MEL regulatory policy and CAD 549
• Ability to support and influence stakeholder relationships
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
• Previous experience in a Flight Operations or Engineering department, together with experience in airline management
• At least 10 years of employment in an airline

Responsibilities

• Monitor fleet aircraft serviceability and assess its impact on flight operations.
• Assess operational implications of CARs, ASRs and QA findings with corrective actions.
• Maintain MEL and CDL and technical content of Fleet Operating Manuals in full compliance with regulatory and company standards
• Review aircraft manufacturers’ technical operating information, prioritise and implement critical & important changes effectively and on time
• Manage aircraft configuration changes and modification status, ensuring flight operations impacts are implemented safely and in a timely manner
• Provide technical expertise on fleet aircraft systems and procedures, communicate fleet technical matters to flight crew and respond to technical queries
• Coordinate the aircraft engineering aspects of new hardware, software and procedure implementation while supporting Flight Operations projects as required
• Liaise with the HKCAD, Engineering, aircraft operators, manufacturers, maintenance companies, suppliers and other operators on relevant technical matters
• Bridge Flight Operations and Engineering by explaining the operational context to Engineering and the engineering context to Flight Operations management and flight crew
• Maintain aircraft-type, operational procedure and flight operations knowledge through relevant seminars, meetings and route familiarisation flights
