Job summary

Leighton Asia is seeking an experienced Design Engineer/Manager to draft designs and calculations, coordinate with draftsmen, and prepare submissions for approvals. The role involves liaising with site staff, consultants and subcontractors for both temporary and permanent works, and assisting in tender submissions with technical writeups and BIM coordination.

Degree holder in Structural / Civil / Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

Draft design/drawings and prepare design calculations in consultation with supervisor.
Prepare sketches and coordinate with draftsman to produce engineering sketches, overlays, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
Produce or review calculations and drawings for approvals and finalization.
Address reviewers/approval authority comments on design submissions and resolve queries.
Liaise with site staff, design consultants and subcontractors for the design of temporary and permanent works.
Support seniors for tender submissions including tender design drawings and technical writeups, quantification, coord. with drafting & BIM staff.
Seek to optimise design solutions by reducing risks during construction, maximising temporary works reuse, ensuring constructability, and seeking economical solutions.
Assist in other ad-hoc assignments.
Inspect construction of temporary works on site and issue permits to load temporary works.
