Job summary

CLSA is seeking an IT Business Analyst in Hong Kong to bridge business stakeholders and the IT team, focusing on analyzing securities, brokerage, and wealth management needs and translating them into actionable technology solutions.

You will document requirements, perform gap analyses, draft functional specs and user stories, collaborate with developers, support UAT, and create user guides, while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and effective project delivery.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience in securities, banking, brokerage, wealth management.
• Development skills in Java and at least one Java framework.
• Strong understanding of securities trading, brokerage operations, funds, bonds, and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in requirements gathering, process mapping, and data analysis.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Team player who can work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua.

• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and the IT department, focusing on the analysis and implementation of technology solutions that meet the needs of the securities, brokerage & wealth management business.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to securities and brokerage operations. Identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements.
• Conduct gap analyses between current and future state business processes and technology solutions.
• Prepare detailed functional specifications, user stories, and use cases that align with business goals.
• Work with development managers and development team to design and review technical solutions to meet business requirements
• Participate in project planning and management, including monitoring progress and reporting on project status to stakeholders.
• Support UAT to ensure requirements are met, provide training and support on new systems and processes.
• Develop user guides and documentation as needed.

Requirements

• Degree holder in IT, Computer Science or related discipline(s). Master's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
• 8 years of related experience in securities, banking, brokerage, wealth management sector (candidate with less experience could be considered)
• Development skills in Java and working with one of more Java frameworks
• Strong understanding of securities trading, brokerage operations, fund, bond, structured products and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in requirements gathering techniques, process mapping, and data analysis.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
