Job summary

HKUST in Hong Kong seeks a proactive Technical Officer to join our Campus Management Office. You will support the lifecycle of our laboratory services from planning to deployment, ensuring safety, compliance and readiness for research and teaching.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external contractors, manage lab infrastructure projects, and contribute to documentation, tender specifications and service standards. This role is a two-year fixed-term contract with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Building Services engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience for Degree holders; minimum 6 years for Higher Diploma holders.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and/or laboratory facility workflows preferred.
• Strong coordination and communication skills in English and Chinese; proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, detailed design and improving laboratory services, processes and infrastructure.
• Contribute to design and setup of new and renovated lab environments including wet, dry and computational labs.
• Help create and maintain documentation for tender specifications, service standards and operating procedures.
• Provide daily technical support for lab development projects and coordinate with internal teams and external contractors.
