Job summary

Pacific Textiles Ltd in Hong Kong seeks an expert in knitting technique management with 10+ years in knitting and mass production. You will oversee knitting processes, guide sample development with brand owners, and lead optimization of machines and methods.

Fluent Cantonese/Putonghua with good English is required. You will collaborate with internal teams, ensure SOP adherence, and explore AI/automation solutions to enhance knitting efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of knitting process experience.
Experience with mass production knitting equipment and processes.
Experience overseeing sample development with brand owners.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
Fluent in Cantonese, Putonghua and English.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate expertise across knit fabric structures and techniques.
Oversee fit and pattern evaluations to ensure samples meet specs.
Supervise technical kitting processes and equipment.
Own optimization of knitting machines and operations.
Provide technical guidance to merchants and internal teams.
Manage risk for fit and construction.
Collaborate with teams to improve knit quality construction, fitting, grading.
Resolve technical issues and propose knit techniques.
Ensure SOPs are followed and updated.
Research and deploy AI and automation in knitting.
Source information from databases and coordinate with vendors/R&D.

About the role

Our company is a world leading manufacturer of knitted fabrics. Headquartered in Hong Kong, the company's production is centered in Guangzhou. Committed to driving efficiency and flexibility through adoption of the most advanced manufacturing practices, the company offers apparel brand owners integrated knitting, dyeing, printing, and finishing services. Producing more than 50 million KG of goods annually and employing over 4,000 staff in production processes, the company is seeking to hire an expert in Knitting Technique Management.

Key responsibilities

Demonstrate expertise across all manner of knit fabric structures and techniques
Oversee fit and pattern evaluations to ensure samples conform to customer specifications
Supervise technical kitting processes and equipment
Take ownership of optimisation of existing and new knitting machines and operations
Provide technique and technical guidance to merchants and internal teams
Take ownership of risk management for all aspects of fit and construction
Work with internal teams to improve knit quality construction, fitting, pattern, and grading
Support the resolution of technical issues and provides suggestions on knit techniques
Ensure maintenance, implementation, and adherence to all SOPs and processes
Research and support the deployment of new solutions including AI and automation in knitting
Utilise internet research, mine proprietary databases and coordinate with vendors and R&D partners

About you

Undergraduate degree holder
Ideally in textile science, fashion or related garment and apparel discipline
At least ten years' experience in knitting processes and techniques
Exposure to mass production knitting processes, equipment, and technologies
Expertise overseeing sample development in cooperation with brand owners and internal stakeholders
Excellent communication skills
Native verbal and written Cantonese, fluent Putonghua, and good English
Able to manage multiple, sometimes competing, priorities and initiatives
Independent, mature, and self-motivated
