Job summary

Michael Page partners with a well-established international consumer brand expanding its apparel development capability in Hong Kong. The regional team seeks an experienced product development professional to lead end-to-end development for men's and women's knit and woven garments.

The role demands translating designs into technical specs, managing fabric and trim development, fittings, grading, and BOMs, while coordinating with design, sourcing and factories across Asia.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of apparel product development experience with knit and woven categories.
• Strong technical knowledge of fabrication, garment construction, fitting, grading and manufacturing processes.
• Experience working with design teams, suppliers and garment factories.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of men's and women's knit and woven apparel from design handover to production readiness.
• Translate design concepts into technical specifications, BOMs, construction details, trims and colorways.
• Develop fabrics, trims, prints and embellishments with mills and suppliers, including performance and lifestyle materials.
• Manage fit sessions, sample reviews, grading and size-set approvals.
• Partner with design, merchandising, sourcing, quality teams and factories to resolve development and production issues.
• Drive cost engineering and supplier negotiations while protecting design intent and product quality.
• Manage development timelines and critical paths across multiple seasons and product categories.
• Conduct regular factory visits in Mainland China for sample reviews, fittings and technical troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate PLM records, tech packs and product development documentation.

The Successful Applicant

• Degree or diploma in Apparel Design, Textile Technology, Fashion Merchandising or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of apparel product development experience, with strong hands-on exposure to both knit and woven categories.
• Strong technical knowledge of fabrication, garment construction, fitting, grading and manufacturing processes.
• Experience developing both men's and women's apparel.
• Sports, athleisure, performance or lifestyle apparel experience would be highly advantageous.
• Strong experience working directly with design teams, suppliers and garment factories.
• Commercially minded with solid costing, negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
• Familiarity with PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, Excel and product development tools.
• Fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese for daily cross-regional collaboration.
• Comfortable with frequent travel to Mainland China.
