Job summary

Luen Thai International Group Ltd in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced knitwear designer to develop marketable collections, culminate in detailed specifications for fittings and production, and maintain showroom presentation. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in knitwear design with US/EU market experience, strong yarn knowledge, and proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, CLO/APEX, and MS Office.

Fluency in English and Mandarin is preferred.

Qualifications

• Higher Diploma or above in Knitwear Design, Fashion Design, or related field.
• 5+ years’ knitwear design experience; US/EU market exposure is a bonus.
• Strong knowledge of yarn and sweater development process.
• Proven creative abilities and strong design sense.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and MS Office.
• Knowledge in CLO and APEX 3/4 is a plus.
• Good time management, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Excellent English and Mandarin communication skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Dongguan.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Conduct seasonal trend report;
• Develop marketable collections, culminate in detailed specifications for fittings and production, and also showroom maintenance;
• Understand customer needs and develop tailormade collection, and make presentation with trend, illustration and CADs;
• Work closely with merchandising team to support customer needs;
• Ensure all designs are executed within established timelines and budgets;
• Assist in other ad hoc projects as assigned by the supervisor;
• Collaborate effectively with others, including designers, suppliers, and factory technicians.

Requirements:

• Higher Diploma or above in Knitwear Design, Fashion Design, or a related field;
• At least 5 years’ solid experience in knitwear design with experience in US/EU market will be an advantage;
• Strong product and yarn knowledge, with a solid understanding of the sweater development process;
• Proven creative abilities and a strong design sense;
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and MS Office applications;
• Knowledge in virtual 3D simulation e.g. CLO, APEX 3/4 is a plus;
• Good time management, willing to learn, self-motivated, has strong sense of responsibilities, able to work independently and under pressure to meet tight schedules;
• Good command of spoken and written English and Mandarin;
• Occasionaltravel to Dongguan will be required.
