Job summary

PFCC Group is seeking a Java Software Engineer in Hong Kong to join its Technology division. You will design, build, and deploy backend accounting services for real-time portfolio processing and reporting in a cloud-ready microservices environment.

The role emphasizes solving low-latency, high-throughput challenges, collaborating with teams across Hong Kong and India, and driving engineering best practices throughout the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of Core Java, multithreading, memory management, and OOP design patterns.
• Proven track record building backend microservices using Spring Boot and RESTful services.
• Relational database design with SQL/DB2, schema optimization, and complex query writing.
• Troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing high-throughput distributed applications.
• Strong communication and ability to tackle ambiguity and end-to-end technical challenges.
• Experience with financial systems, portfolio valuation, or accounting engines is a plus.
• Exposure to NoSQL (MongoDB), Kafka, Docker/Kubernetes, or cloud-native tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy backend accounting services using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
• Create reusable components and data models for low-latency data streams.
• Collaborate with architecture, product, and QA across international hubs.
• Diagnose bottlenecks and optimize queries to improve performance.
• Drive design discussions and enforce engineering best practices across the lifecycle.
