Job summary

Stryker is seeking a seasoned leader to champion internal controls across East Asia. You will influence control design, embedding governance, and scalable processes to support sustainable growth while partnering with senior leaders.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in controls, audit, or risk, with multinational experience and strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS. Hybrid work flexibility is available in Singapore or Hong Kong.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, business, or related discipline.
• At least 10 years in internal controls, audit, risk management, or related fields.
• Experience in multinational organizations across multiple countries.
• Knowledge of internal and external audit processes.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Experience with compliance and governance programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the East Asia Internal Controls program and ensure compliance with corporate control frameworks, policies, and governance requirements.
• Assess the effectiveness of key business and financial controls across regional entities and identify opportunities to strengthen the control environment.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify control gaps, emerging risks, and process weaknesses and develop mitigation plans.
• Drive remediation activities for audit findings, monitoring results, and compliance assessments to achieve timely closure of control deficiencies.
• Maintain and enhance Risk Control Matrices (RCMs) and supporting evidence to ensure audit readiness.
• Partner with Finance, Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, HR, Compliance, and Technology to embed effective controls into business processes.
• Lead process improvement, automation, and governance transformation initiatives increasing preventive controls and reducing manual work.
• Deliver training, coaching, and awareness programs that strengthen control ownership and risk management practices across the region.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Internal Controls, Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, Finance Controllership, or related disciplines.
• Experience working within multinational organizations across multiple countries.
• Knowledge of internal and external audit processes.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Experience with compliance and governance programs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification such as CPA, CA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent.
• Experience within the medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries.

Remote – Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
