Job summary

Gensler Hong Kong is seeking an Interior Designer to craft creative, functional workplaces. You will contribute across all design phases, collaborate with the team, and support CAD/BIM development for project reviews and construction. The role expects 2+ years in workspace interiors and strong concept development.

You will assist with FF&E selections, produce finishes boards, and present designs to clients, while coordinating with suppliers and team members to deliver high‑quality spaces.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience with workplace interiors design.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s in design from an accredited school.
• Strong planning, knowledge of furniture, finishes, codes and budgets.
• Self-starter with strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform interior design assignments using professional concepts.
• Produce space plans, elevations, joinery details and presentation documentation.
• Develop CAD and BIM drawings for design review and construction.
• Assist with FF&E selection and color/material coordination.
• Prepare finishes boards for client presentations.
• Render plans/elevations to convey concepts to clients.
• Support client meetings and coordinate with suppliers as needed.

As a Gensler Interior Designer, your job is to combine creativity and passion for design to produce unique and functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You are a self-motivated, team player who is ready for active participation in all phases of the design process.

What You Will Do

• Perform interior design assignments using professional concepts and procedures
• Support on producing space plans, furniture plans, elevations, sections, joinery/millwork details; conceptual and finished design presentation documentation
• Provide solutions to design problems and generate design alternatives with the team
• Support the development and production of CAD and BIM drawings packages for design review, tendering and construction
• Participate in selection of FF&E and color and materials for projects in coordination with other team members for presentation to clients and space planning concepts
• Support in producing sketch plan / schematic design documentation of interior layouts, loose furniture, joinery, finishes
• Render plans and elevations to convey a design concept to a client
• Responsible for arranging the finishes library and prepare finishes boards for client presentations
• May be involved in meeting with suppliers and co-ordinate and educate the design team on new materials, brands and special treatments
• Support the rest of the team with primary design interface with clients and attend client / site meetings as required
• Delivering the highest quality of professional service

Your Qualifications

• 2+ years experience with the design of workplace interiors projects
• Diploma and / or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design
• Strong planning abilities, including development of design concepts, knowledge of furniture and finishes, planning codes, and budgets
• Self-starters with good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong skills in presentations
• Ability to work well with a team

Must have

• Design Authoring - Revit, Rhino, Autocad, Navisworks
• Collaboration - BIM360
• Visualization – Vray, Enscape, Twinmotion, 3DSMax
• Graphics & Productivity - Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite
