Job summary

The Insurance Authority in Hong Kong is seeking a qualified compliance professional to join its Regulatory Compliance team. You will conduct on-site inspections and off-site reviews of insurers and intermediaries to evaluate adherence to the Insurance Ordinance and related requirements, and to assess conduct risks and culture.

You will analyze market data, handle enquiries and complaints, and process statutory applications, contributing to IA's mission to regulate and supervise the Hong Kong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in accounting, finance, insurance, economics or related disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience in auditing, compliance or regulatory fields.
• Knowledge of the local regulatory requirements, insurance products, industry practices and market dynamics of the insurance sector.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Self-motivated, independent, patient and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspection and off-site reviews of insurers and insurance intermediaries to assess compliance with the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements and to evaluate their conduct risks and culture.
• Evaluate and monitor possible breaches of the Insurance Ordinance and the related legislation and regulatory requirements, and misconduct of insurers and insurance intermediaries.
• Review and analyze insurance market data and compile statistical reports.
• Handle enquiries/ complaints on insurers and insurance intermediaries’ regulatory requirements from the public.
• Process statutory applications from insurers and insurance intermediaries.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior management to facilitate the administration and performance of the statutory functions of IA.
