Job summary

HTK is seeking a Manager, Group Insurance Compliance in Hong Kong to provide regulatory compliance advisory to the insurance agency businesses of HKT Financial Services and to ensure strict adherence to laws and internal policies. You will design governance structures and coordinate with 1st line Compliance and Group Legal.

The role requires deep knowledge of IA/MPFA regulations, strong stakeholder management, and bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• University degree with minimum 5 years’ experience in regulatory compliance, preferably gained from insurance industry.
• Sound knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and guidelines e.g. IA, MPFA, etc.
• Knowledge of life insurance and general insurance products is essential.
• Prior experience in consultancy firm, risk management, liaison with regulator would be a definite advantage.
• Proficient communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-motivated, independent team player with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Provide regulatory compliance advice and insight to support effective controls on the daily operation of insurance agency businesses of HKT Financial Services
• Design and implement the Risk and Compliance governance structure for the insurance businesses
• Coordinate with the 1st line Compliance and the Group Legal to enable the insurance businesses are operating in a strict compliance with relevant laws, regulations and internal policy guidelines
• Monitor the current insurance regulatory landscape and devise action plan corresponding to changes of regulatory requirements
• Organize training/ briefing with insurance businesses to promote their awareness of the Group policy requirements
• Liaise with the 1st line Compliance on preparation of compliance reporting to management/ relevant authorities/ insurance principals
• Support the review and evaluation of commercial deals and new initiatives of the insurance businesses

This role under Group Risk & Regulatory primarily provides regulatory compliance advisory to the insurance agency businesses of HKT Financial Services and ensures the relevant teams to operate in a strict adherence to the applicable legal/ regulatory requirements and internal policy standards.
