Job summary

Infosight Consulting Limited seeks an experienced IBM Z/CICS support specialist for our Hong Kong team. You will install, configure and maintain CICS TS for z/OS and related tools, ensuring performance, security and reliability across production systems.

The role requires 10+ years of mainframe experience, strong problem-determination skills, and English proficiency; Cantonese preferred for local collaboration. Rotation maintenance windows apply.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in IBM Z mainframe system and middleware technologies incl. CICS, z/OS, DB2 and MQ.
• Hands-on experience with product installation, customization and maintenance of CICS TS for z/OS and related CICS tools.
• Knowledge of RACF security tools and performance monitoring using Omegamon, CICS Performance Analyzer, RMF and SMF.
• Excellent problem determination skills, able to detect, investigate and control processing anomalies.
• English required; Cantonese preferred for local team communication; Mandarin beneficial.
• Sound analytical, communication and interpersonal skills; able to work in an agile, multicultural environment.
• No regular shift; rotational maintenance support; Sunday 00:00–06:00 windows approx every 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Handle installation, customization and maintenance of IBM Z products and tools (CICS TS, z/OS Connect EE, CAFC, CICS JVM, CICS Performance Analyzer, CICS Configuration Manager).
• Manage system performance, reliability and availability against SLAs using Omegamon, CICS Performance Analyzer, RMF, SMF, Splunk and AppDynamics.
• Resolve incidents with root-cause analysis across managed systems.
• Collaborate with global application teams to deliver projects and platform standardisation.
• Provide operations support including on-call and after-hours during maintenance windows.
• Automate operational processes, CI/CD pipelines, system changes, monitoring and capacity planning.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and operational risk requirements.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and documentation.

Desired Experience Range

10+ years of IBM Mainframe / CICS support experience. Candidates with fewer years of experience but strong hands-on CICS expertise will also be considered.

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must‑Have

University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.

Strong proficiency in IBM Z mainframe system and middleware technologies, including CICS, z/OS, DB2 and MQ.

Hands‑on experience with product installation, customization and maintenance of CICS Transaction Server for z/OS and related CICS tools.

Knowledge of RACF security tools and performance monitoring using Omegamon, CICS Performance Analyzer, RMF and SMF.

Excellent problem determination skills, with the ability to detect, investigate and control processing anomalies or system errors.

English is required. Cantonese is preferred for local team communication. Mandarin is beneficial but not mandatory.

Sound analytical, communication and interpersonal skills; proactive, self‑motivated and able to work collaboratively in an agile, multicultural environment.

No regular shift requirement; participation in a rotational maintenance support arrangement is required.

Maintenance windows are typically Sunday 00:00–06:00, approximately once every 2 weeks on rotation, generally supported remotely with time‑off in lieu after overnight support.

Good‑to‑Have

Experience with z/OS Connect EE, CICS Application File Control (CAFC), CICS JVM, CICS Performance Analyzer and CICS Configuration Manager.

Banking or financial services industry experience, preferably in enterprise production and mission‑critical systems environments.

Knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD implementation, including z/OSMF, Ansible automation framework, Jenkins and GitHub.

REXX programming skills and experience automating system changes, housekeeping, monitoring, alerting and capacity planning activities.

Open to both senior and mid-level professionals with strong hands‑on platform support experience.

Existing Hong Kong‑based candidates are preferred.

Role descriptions / Expectations from the Role

Provide operations support, including on‑call and after‑hours support during approved maintenance windows.

Automate operational processes, including CI/CD pipelines, system changes, housekeeping, monitoring, alerting, capacity management and capacity planning.

Ensure compliance with security standards and operational risk requirements.

Develop, manage and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans for all managed systems.

Create and maintain installation, configuration and administration documentation.
