Job summary

Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, Hong Kong is seeking a General Technician to join our POMEC team. Based at Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, Hong Kong, the General Technician is responsible for carrying out repair and maintenance diagnostics and solving engineering problems encountered.

The role reports to the Duty Engineer and involves energy conservation and coordinating with other departments. You will maintain plant rooms and equipment, ensure FLHSS&E standards, assist with emergency

Qualifications

• Minimum higher certificate in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Holder of electrical worker license, Grade 'A' will be an advantage.
• Holder of Fire Tube Boiler License, with Engineering plants and boiler knowledge will be an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years' relevant work experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good spoken and written Chinese / Cantonese and basic English.
• Independent and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper and safe condition of all Plant, Plant Rooms, Equipment and Work areas.
• Comply with all FLHSS&E Standards.
• Be conversant with the Hotel Emergency Procedures.
• Perform Emergency Response Team duties as required.
• Be courteous, professional and service oriented when dealing with Guests and Colleagues.
• Assist Guests and Colleagues as appropriate.
• Carry out work in accordance with the Hotel Planned Maintenance Programme.
• Ensure all log books and records are up to date.
• Assist Engineering personnel with technical advice and ensure standards are maintained.
• Set up audio and video equipment for functions.
• Assist with Energy Conservation and Control.
• Liaise with other departments & contractors.
• Arrange repair work for outstanding work orders concerning guest rooms and public/back areas.
• Monitor performance and efficiency of all B&D sections.
• Arrange for repair of electronic, micro processors, and computer controlled equipment.
• Suggest alterations or improvements for system operations.

Skills

Electrical license (Grade A)

Fire Tube Boiler License

Basic computer skills

Chinese/Cantonese (spoken and written)

English (basic)

Education
