International Christian School (ICS) in Hong Kong is seeking a passionate Homeroom Teacher (Elementary School) starting July 2027. The role centers on creating a caring classroom environment that nurtures academic and spiritual growth within a biblical worldview.

The successful candidate will join a Christ-centered K-12 school serving about 1,200 students, offering a classical US Liberal Arts curriculum and a strong emphasis on faith-based student formation.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Education and a recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE or equivalent.
• Successful elementary teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and pedagogy, with familiarity with Common Core, NGSS, and inquiry-based learning frameworks; Readers and Writers Workshop experience is a plus.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Create and maintain a positive learning environment that values student care, promotes positive relationships, and contributes to the intellectual and spiritual growth of students.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that align with the school's curriculum policies to provide clear objectives and learning outcomes for homeroom subjects.
• Implement standards-based grading and assessments that facilitate effective feedback according to students' proficiency levels for specific knowledge and skills standards.
• Promote the welfare of children and support ICs in safeguarding children through relevant policies and procedures.
• Maintain regular communication and trust with parents in a welcoming, engaging, and collaborative manner.
• Work effectively and efficiently with other faculty members in grade and vertical subject area teams.
• Participate in administrative tasks that are core to the school's operation, such as curriculum management, service on committees, as well as engagement in co-curricular activities.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

• Strong passion and commitment to Christian education, and the ability to integrate biblical principles in their teaching.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Elementary Education, or a related discipline, together with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent). Successful elementary teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and pedagogy with familiarity with Common Core, NGSS, and inquiry-based learning frameworks. Experience with Readers and Writers Workshop is preferred.
• Strong relational skills and the ability to support students' academic, social-emotional, and spiritual development.
• A team player with a positive attitude and growth mindset, and the ability to interact positively with faculty, students, and parents in all aspects of school life.
