Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) invites penultimate-year students to join a 10-week Summer Internship Programme in Hong Kong. You will gain exposure to global markets, work on direct projects and learn alongside professionals in a dynamic environment.

Program starts in June and provides hands-on experience, networking, and potential pathways to HKEX Graduate Associate opportunities. Interns rotate across various divisions and gain practical insights into capital markets.

Qualifications

• Penultimate-year students graduating between September 2027 and July 2028.
• Minimum GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0 scale) or Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent.
• Demonstrate commercial awareness and an interest in global financial markets.
• Strong ownership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Adaptable, open-minded and eager to embrace new challenges.
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist teams across divisions listed by HKEX, including Corporate Communications, Finance, HR, Legal & Secretarial.
• Support project work and learning activities with supervision from mentors.
• Contribute to data gathering, reporting and documentation for ongoing initiatives.

Job Summary

HKEX Summer Internship Programme offers interns an unique experience in global markets, with the opportunity to learn, develop new skills, take on direct responsibility for work and projects, and be part of a fun and ambitious team right at the heart of global markets. In joining us, you will gain insight into life at work at HKEX, while developing practical on-the-job experience. The programme kicks off in June and continues through into August. The maximum employment period for each intern is 10 weeks.

We are looking for candidates who:

• Are penultimate-year students graduating between September 2027 and July 2028 from any degree discipline


• Are on track to achieve a minimum GPA of 3.5 (out of a GPA 4.0 scale), Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent.


• Demonstrate commercial awareness and an interest in global financial markets


• Possess strong ownership, analytical and problem-solving skills


• Are adaptable, open-minded and eager to embrace new challenges


• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment


• Demonstrate excellent command of written and spoken English
