Job summary

Bupa in Hong Kong is seeking a compliance professional to develop and implement a robust compliance framework across regulated entities. You will provide specialist regulatory advice with a focus on HK Insurance Authority requirements and conduct risk, aligning with business needs.

You will partner with the Head of Compliance to ensure governance, controls and change management, while promoting a strong conduct culture and timely risk escalation across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master Degree.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory and conduct compliance frameworks internationally and in Hong Kong.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Cantonese, with ability to present articulately with gravitas.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the financial regulatory compliance field (preferably within the insurance industry).
• Strong knowledge of commercial compliance obligations in Hong Kong.
• Background in the global health insurance market, or transferable skills from other financial services sectors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a compliance framework with the Head of Compliance.
• Provide specialist regulatory advice focusing on HK Insurance Authority requirements.
• Offer business unit view of compliance activities to drive consistency.
• Ensure systems and controls meet regulatory expectations.
• Provide effective challenge and escalate risks with pragmatic solutions.
• Promote a robust conduct and compliance culture across HK regulated entities.
• Coordinate regulatory engagement and change management.
• Oversee financial crime checks and sanctions screening.
• Oversee intermediary governance and broker onboarding.
• Train and communicate on compliance topics.
