Job summary

Emerald Group in Hong Kong seeks a senior strategist to lead the Group Strategic Asset Allocation framework, collaborating with Finance, Investment, Risk and Asset Management to design long-term investment solutions for policyholder commitments.

You will advance hedging, liquidity, funding sustainability and capital efficiency through derivative strategies and governance reporting to the Group CFO and committees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, actuarial science, mathematics or related field is expected.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in institutional investment strategy, actuarial investment management or balance sheet strategy with strong understanding of Investments, Markets, Capital and Risk.
• Deep technical expertise in insurance capital regimes (e.g., RBC, ICs), IFRS17 accounting and derivative-based hedging strategies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SAA reviews for all markets.
• Identify and lead initiatives embedding the SAA framework into LBUs.
• Produce strategic insights and materials for the Chief Capital Officer, Group CFO and relevant Group committees on SAA.
• Design and work with Investment Management to execute derivative hedging strategies for ALM and risk management.
• Identify portfolio-level performance issues, risk exposures and optimization opportunities.
• Ensure implementation of a purpose-driven investment strategy supporting liabilities and long-term commitments.
