Job summary

萬知國際集團有限公司 on Hong Kong Island seeks an experienced Publisher to lead our publishing operations in a full-time capacity. You will shape brand identity, steward the publishing portfolio, and drive commercial growth across divisions, influencing editorial vision and market positioning.

The role requires 10+ years in publishing with senior leadership, a track record of launches across formats, and strong knowledge of HK/APAC markets. Fluency in English and Chinese is preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of publishing experience with senior leadership background.
• Proven track record launching and managing titles across formats.
• Strong knowledge of publishing industry, market dynamics, distribution and digital trends.
• Excellent commercial acumen with ability to drive revenue and P&L.
• Outstanding leadership and team-building capabilities.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving with a creative mindset.
• Knowledge of Hong Kong and Asia-Pacific publishing markets advantageous.
• Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Publishing, Communications, Media Studies, Business Administration or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive publishing strategies aligned with company objectives and market opportunities.
• Oversee the editorial direction and quality standards across all published titles and formats.
• Manage relationships with authors, contributors, agents and external publishing partners.
• Lead commercial operations including pricing, distribution and revenue optimisation across publishing channels.
• Direct marketing and promotional campaigns to build brand awareness and drive readership.
• Manage publishing budgets, financial forecasting and resource allocation.
• Build and lead a high-performing publishing team, fostering creativity and professional development.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments to identify new opportunities.
• Oversee production processes, quality control and adherence to publishing timelines.
• Represent the publishing division at industry events and maintain key stakeholder relationships.
