We are conducting a confidential search on behalf of a fast-growing alternative investment manager with a systematic, research-driven investing platform. The firm is expanding its international footprint and is looking for a senior marketing and distribution professional to build and lead its overseas fundraising effort from Hong Kong.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will own the offshore fundraising agenda end to end, engage institutional allocators directly, and build the distribution and financing infrastructure that supports the firm's growth outside its home market.
What you will do
- Own the overseas fundraising strategy — set annual targets and personally drive commitments from sovereign funds, pensions, family offices, funds of funds and other institutional allocators
- Develop and manage relationships with third-party distributors and private bank / fund platforms across major offshore markets, from onboarding and due diligence through to commercial terms and scale-up
- Build and maintain a network of prime brokers and securities firms for lending and financing, managing cost structure and counterparty relationships
- Originate new mandates through your existing institutional network, and act as senior point of contact for key clients, including bespoke solutions and post-investment servicing
- Represent the firm in the market — conferences, roadshows, client events — and translate market and regulatory developments into clear positioning and messaging
- Lead a small Hong Kong-based team and work closely with investment, operations and compliance colleagues to keep processes efficient and fully compliant
What we are looking for
- 5+ years of institutional fundraising / distribution experience in overseas markets, with a verifiable record of closing large tickets; prior experience at a quantitative or hedge fund manager strongly preferred
- Deep, practical knowledge of offshore distribution models — bank platforms, third-party distributors and the related compliance and onboarding requirements
- Established relationships with securities firms on lending and financing, with the ability to resolve counterparty issues efficiently
- Demonstrated access to sovereign wealth funds, pension plans and family offices, with a solid book of institutional contacts
- Bachelor's degree or above from a reputable university; quantitative finance, mathematics or finance preferred. SFC Type 4 / 9 licence holder is an advantage
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin — English as the working language — with strong negotiation, presentation and team-management skills, and the resilience to perform in a fast-moving environment
- Existing right to live and work in Hong Kong, with solid knowledge of Hong Kong and offshore regulatory frameworks
What is on offer
A senior, high-visibility seat on a growing platform, with direct access to decision makers
Competitive base plus performance-linked bonus, with scope to shape the function and build the team
