Job summary

Wellington Management is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead the Greater China Institutional team, based in Hong Kong. The role focuses on defining and executing the institutional client strategy across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau, and representing Wellington with the region's sophisticated asset owners.

You will drive growth by targeting new segments, acquiring new clients, and building long-term client relationships, reporting to the Head of APAC

Qualifications

• Proven track record of building long-term strategic client relationships.
• Leading a high-functioning team with Greater China clients knowledge.
• Strong investment acumen and ability to communicate market insights to clients.
• Proven ability to originate and close complex institutional opportunities.
• Strong commercial judgment balancing client needs and business priorities.
• Experience navigating organizational change and market disruptions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
• Travel frequency required.

Responsibilities

• Build and deepen relationships with strategic partners and prospective clients to expand mandates.
• Lead complex client opportunities and strategic account planning with multiple stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor the Greater China Institutional team to foster collaboration and accountability.
• Partner with global and regional colleagues to deliver integrated client outcomes.
• Act as a strategic advocate for clients and the firm, balancing needs with priorities.
• Participate in APAC Institutional Leadership team meetings and contribute to strategy.
