For one of our clients, a well-established international business organization in Hong Kong, we are looking for a Head of Finance to take full ownership of its finance function and play a key role in supporting the organization’s leadership and overall performance.

This is a hands-on and highly visible leadership role for someone who can combine financial management, business partnering, governance and administration, while working closely with the Executive Director, leadership team and Board.

A key part of the role will be to translate financial data into meaningful business insights and recommendations, helping leadership make informed decisions, optimize resources and improve overall performance. While bookkeeping, accounting and payroll are outsourced, the Head of Finance will retain full ownership of the finance function and supervise external providers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and overall financial planning
• Monitor financial performance, KPIs, revenue streams and costs, identifying risks and opportunities and providing actionable recommendations
• Act as a strong business partner to the Executive Director and department Heads, challenging assumptions and supporting key business decisions
• Prepare monthly financial reporting, analysis and forward-looking projections for senior leadership and the Board
• Translate financial data into clear insights, recommendations and action plans
• Manage and supervise external providers responsible for bookkeeping, accounting, payroll and related finance activities
• Coordinate the annual audit and ensure appropriate financial, statutory, tax and administrative compliance
• Support Board meetings, Annual General Meetings and other governance-related activities
• Manage relationships with key external partners including auditors, banks, insurers and service providers
• Oversee day-to-day administrative and office management matters
• Continuously improve internal processes, systems and ways of working, identifying opportunities to simplify and automate through digital and AI tools.

Who we’re looking for:

Someone who is autonomous, proactive, highly accountable and genuinely hands-on. You should be equally comfortable discussing financial performance with senior stakeholders and taking ownership of operational matters in a lean organization. This role requires someone who can move seamlessly between strategic thinking and execution.

Ideally, you will bring:

• 10+ years of experience in Finance, ideally combining financial management, FP&A, controlling and business partnering
• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting and performance analysis
• The ability to turn financial information into clear business recommendations for senior stakeholders
• Experience partnering with senior management and presenting financial information to leadership teams or Boards
• Experience managing external accounting, payroll, audit or professional service providers
• Solid understanding of financial controls, audit and compliance requirements
• Strong Excel and financial analysis capabilities; knowledge of Xero would be an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• An entrepreneurial and pragmatic mindset, with the ability to operate effectively in a lean organization
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Curiosity and practical interest in leveraging technology and AI to improve efficiency
• Fluent English is required, French would be a strong plus.
