Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is seeking a highly commercial and analytical candidate for Group Strategy to shape and drive key strategic initiatives across the firm. The role partners with stakeholders across product, platform development, market-facing initiatives and cross-exchange collaborations.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategy, corporate finance or exchanges strongly preferred.
• Capital markets or business development experience is a plus.
• Highly commercial and analytical mindset and the ability to drive initiatives across a large organisation.

Responsibilities

• Take day‑to‑day leadership of key analytical workstreams and strategic problem solving across a wide range of initiatives
• Drive strategic research on market trends, competitive dynamics, and topics relevant to HKEX’s business
• Develop strategic recommendations for senior management and the Board, ensuring high‑quality insights and clear narratives
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to help evaluate and progress strategic initiatives, ensuring effective coordination and follow‑up across divisions
• Participate in meetings with business partners, regulators, government counterparts, and external stakeholders, supporting senior team members in preparing materials and capturing outcomes
• Support the assessment of strategic opportunities, including acquisitions, investments, partnerships, and new business initiatives, through analysis, modelling, and preparation of decision materials
• Generate new strategic ideas that support HKEX’s long‑term vision and market development
• Provide guidance and oversight to junior team members, providing direction, quality control, and professional development guidance
