Job summary

One Small Step in Hong Kong seeks a skilled Graphic Designer & Event Coordinator to craft backdrops for children's celebrations and manage the design through print and build. You will turn customer briefs into print-ready artwork using Illustrator, align pricing for custom pieces, and act as the bridge between clients, the events team, and the printing factory.

Qualifications

• Expert level in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (Traditional & Simplified).
• Strong graphic design skills with a portfolio of print or large-format work.
• Experience designing foamboard backdrops.
• Excellent customer communication and coordination with factory contacts, meeting deadlines.
• Organised under pressure with high finish and detail standards.

Responsibilities

• Design decoration backdrops for children's birthday parties and events.
• Create bespoke, made-to-order designs from a customer brief using Adobe Illustrator.
• Support pricing of custom designs for customers.
• Act as the link between customers, the events team, and our printing factory.
• Support the events team on planning and on-site operation.
• Own production from artwork to delivery: follow up, chase timelines, and check print and build quality at every stage.

Your Role:

As our Graphic Designer & Event Coordinator, you are the creative engine behind every celebration at One Small Step. You take a customer's idea and turn it into a design, then carry that design all the way through print, production, and the moment the doors open. You are the reason every backdrop lands, every theme holds together, and every guest walks in and says wow. If you love the energy of a busy event and take pride in the details that make a celebration feel special, you will be the perfect fit for our vibrant team.

Your Role:

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 10:00 - 19:00 (Includes 1-Hour Lunch Break)

You Are:

Expert Level in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop

Fluent in English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, written and spoken

Strong graphic design skills with a portfolio of print or large-format work

Experience with designing foamboard backdrops.

Comfortable talking to customers and to factory contacts, and holding both to a desadline

Organised under pressure, with a high standard for finish and detail
