Job summary

NLS Executive Search seeks a Golang Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services for a top-tier global buy-side firm in Hong Kong. You will work on high-throughput, performance-sensitive systems supporting trading, risk workflows, data services, and internal platforms.

You will design APIs, build event-driven components, and drive observability and automation. Collaboration with engineers and stakeholders is essential in a fast-paced agile environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building production backend systems in Golang.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, networking, memory/performance considerations, and clean architecture.
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs and/or event-driven design patterns.
• Experience with databases and data modeling (SQL and NoSQL).
• Working knowledge of Linux and common tooling for building, deploying, and debugging services.
• Experience with CI/CD and version control (Git).
• Familiarity with observability tooling and debugging production systems.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to deliver reliably in a fast-moving environment.
• Clear communication and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Go (Golang).
• Design and implement APIs, internal services, and event-driven or high-throughput processing components.
• Build systems that handle performance and reliability requirements (latency, throughput, resilience).
• Integrate with data sources and services (e.g., SQL/NoSQL, message queues/streaming platforms depending on stack).
• Improve observability (logging, metrics, tracing) and support production operations.
• Write clean, well-tested code; contribute to code reviews and engineering standards.
• Participate in agile delivery, estimation, and release activities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvement through automation and better tooling.
