Job summary

GF Securities (Hong Kong) is seeking a seasoned settlements professional to manage the end-to-end settlement of trades in overseas markets, mutual funds, bonds and OTC products. You will handle daily operations, pre-matching, post-trade reconciliations and liaise with global custodians and counterparties.

The role requires 4–8 years in securities settlement, familiarity with international markets and strong Excel proficiency. Fluency in Cantonese and English is essential, Mandarin preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Around 4–8 years of experience in securities settlement, preferably with exposure to international markets.
• Familiarity with Middle X, Clearstream, CMU operations is highly preferred.
• Experience in bonds, structured products, or OTC derivatives is a strong asset.
• Expert knowledge of cross-border settlement processes and best practices.
• Proficient in strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Strong Excel knowledge and skillset.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to perform under pressure.
• Willing to learn and progress.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with fluency in Cantonese and English; Mandarin preferred.
• Experienced candidate will be considered as Vice President

Responsibilities

• Manage the settlement process for all trades executed in Overseas Markets (USA, Europe, Asia, etc), Mutual Funds, Bonds and OTC products.
• Handle daily settlement operations including daily trade matching, client stock deposits/withdrawals, SI and corporate actions.
• Handle pre-matching of settlement instructions, daily booking and settlement process.
• Ensure all post-trade processing and reconciliations are properly completed.
• Liaise with global and sub-custodians, counterparties and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure timely settlements.
• Ensure all settlement procedures comply with local market conventions.
• Monitor regulatory changes related to settlement and comply with local market conventions and tax rules across countries.
• Lead projects related to systems setup, enhancements and optimization; define requirements, review specs, plan testing resources.
• Collaborate with system vendor and internal departments to track project status and progress.
