Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc is seeking a high calibre professional for a Full Stack Engineering role to design and build a scalable, global low latency synthetic trading platform. You will influence architecture and work with front-office, product, and compliance teams to ensure compliant, rapid delivery of new features.

The role requires expert Java and JVM knowledge, experience with low latency systems, and familiarity with DeltaOne trading concepts, FIX messaging, and distributed architectures.

Qualifications

• Experience in investment banking setting.
• Expert-level Java: JVM, garbage collection, data structures, non-blocking IO.
• Low latency development; GCP and UI development is a plus.
• Knowledge of DeltaOne and Synthetic trading: order lifecycle, locate, inventory, FIX messaging.
• Understanding of robust, scalable distributed trading platforms; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a scalable, highly available global low latency synthetic trading platform.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and platform design.
• Collaborate with front-office trading and product teams for fast delivery of new functionality.
• Coordinate with compliance, risk/control teams to meet regulatory requirements.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the global team for reviews and strategic alignment.
• Influence future state architecture and drive continuous improvement.
