Job summary

NLS Executive Search is engaged on behalf of a global investment bank to hire an Equities OMS Java Developer in Hong Kong. You will design, develop and support high‑performance trading and order lifecycle functionality, collaborating with trading, quant/strategy, QA and infrastructure teams.

You will implement latency‑sensitive services, manage market data interfaces, and ensure reliability through robust testing and operational tooling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Java or C# development experience.
• Strong understanding of OMS concepts: order states, idempotency, message sequencing and reconciliation.
• Experience with FIX protocol (preferably FIX 4.x) or other trading protocols.
• Solid knowledge of concurrency and performance tuning in Java.
• Proficiency with SQL and relational data modeling.
• Experience with CI/CD and test frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).
• Familiarity with Linux environment, debugging, and operational support practices.
• Experience in equities trading and market connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Equities OMS components in Java or C#, including order lifecycle management.
• Build/consume market data and execution interfaces (e.g., FIX) with robust error handling.
• Optimize latency-sensitive services (threading, backpressure, data structures).
• Create unit, integration, and system tests; improve automation coverage.
• Diagnose production issues using logs, metrics, tracing and post-incident reviews.
• Contribute to design documents, technical standards, and code reviews.
• Support release activities including troubleshooting and deployment readiness.
