Job summary

OSL in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced FX Trading Lead to lead and grow the FX trading function supporting our global payments and digital asset business. This role covers FX, including Emerging Markets across Asia, LATAM and Africa, and you will be hands-on in trading while also building pricing, liquidity, and a scalable trading process.

You will manage P&L, drive trading volume, coach a team of 5–7, and work with Sales, Payments, Treasury and Operations to respond to market demand.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on FX trading experience.
• Strong experience in Emerging Market FX across Asia, LATAM and/or Africa.
• Proven ability to manage P&L and trading performance.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced FX Trading Lead to lead and grow OSL’s FX trading function supporting our global payments and digital asset business.

This role will cover FX, including Emerging Markets across Asia, LATAM and Africa, supporting OSL’s expansion into new markets and currency corridors. You will be hands-on in trading, responsible for securing competitive local-market pricing, executing OTC transactions, managing P&L and growing trading volumes, while also leading a team of 5–7.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on FX trading experience, with 5+ years of experience and proven exposure to Emerging Market FX, particularly across Asia, LATAM and/or Africa. Experience across OTC trading, liquidity management, payments, fintech, or digital assets is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

FX Trading & Market Execution

• Lead day-to-day FX trading across Asian, LATAM and African Emerging Market currencies, with relevant G10 coverage
• Execute OTC FX transactions and manage FX flow, ensuring competitive pricing and efficient execution
• Build strong relationships with local market participants to secure best-in-market pricing and liquidity
• Monitor market conditions, liquidity, spreads, and currency movements to identify trading opportunities
• Develop trading strategies to improve pricing, execution quality, trading volume, and profitability
• Manage FX exposures and ensure appropriate market risk management

EMFX Expansion

• Support OSL’s expansion across Asia, LATAM and Africa, with a focus on developing new Emerging Market FX capabilities
• Develop local market knowledge across FX liquidity, counterparties, pricing, and market structure
• Identify and establish new liquidity sources, banks, brokers, and OTC counterparties
• Improve OSL’s ability to price and execute FX transactions in less liquid and Emerging Market currencies
• Work closely with Sales, Payments, Treasury, and Operations to understand market demand and support new payment flows

Trading Performance & P&L

• Own and manage trading P&L, ensuring sustainable profitability across trading activities
• Drive growth in trading volume while maintaining strong execution and risk discipline
• Track and improve pricing competitiveness, execution quality, spreads, and trading performance
• Identify opportunities to improve margins and optimise the use of liquidity across markets
• Establish and monitor trading KPIs for the team
• Lead and manage a team of approximately 5–7
• Set trading objectives, performance standards, and risk parameters
• Coach and develop traders while maintaining a hands-on role in trading
• Monitor individual and team performance across P&L, trading volume, pricing, and execution quality
• Drive continuous improvement across trading strategies, processes, and tools
• Ensure trading activities operate within approved risk limits and internal controls
• Identify and manage market, liquidity, and counterparty risks
• Work closely with Risk, Compliance, Treasury, and Operations to ensure trading activities meet regulatory and operational requirements
• Improve trading processes, systems, and controls as the business scales

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on FX trading experience, with meaningful FX flow or position management experience
• Strong experience in Emerging Market FX, particularly across Asia, LATAM and/or Africa
• Proven experience with OTC FX trading, execution, pricing, and liquidity management
• Strong understanding of local FX markets, market structure, liquidity providers, brokers, and banks
• Demonstrated ability to manage P&L and trading performance
• Experience in crypto, digital assets, or stablecoins is highly valued
• Experience in payments, fintech, or high-volume transaction environments is a plus
• Previous experience managing or mentoring a trading team; experience leading a team of 5–7 is preferred
• Strong commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to make fast and sound trading decisions
• Mandarin proficiency is preferred
• Comfortable working within GMT+8 and collaborating with teams across Asia, LATAM, Africa, and global markets
• Hands-on, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with evolving processes and priorities
